We enjoyed the talk provided by Tuan. He explained a lot to us. We get to know more about life in jail, caning and he also demonstrates how to canned by using a fake human model. There is also a lot of information about death punishment in other countries. It is a good place to spend time with your children. Entry fee is only RM2.00 per person.

I’m not a museum person but I’ve always been interested in prison series, books etc. So that’s why I think I liked this museum in particular. It was very interesting. You can’t take photos of the most brutal things, meaning methods of torture and execution. It was very full of people so I recommend coming here on a weekday (we were on a saturday). The price was 6 rm for a foreign adult.

Very interactive & interesting place to visit. So much info about prison in Malaysia provided here. Cheap entrance ticket. Good place to bring kids to educate them not to do crime & can show them the consequences of doing crime. Felt scary a bit at the cell area & hanging room. I totally recommend visiting this place.

Super super interesting place! It was even more interesting as we "joined" in a school lawatan sambil belajar tour and The prison officer was explaining about caining (rotan). I didn't know how severe it was and I could just feel the terrible terror one must have felt when they need to face this. The bleeding may stop but the scars are for life till death. It was also definatelly creppy to see the actual death chamber and the cell of the prisoners who will have their last moments in life. The hanging place is definatelly not what I imagine and you can just feel the calm but terror in the air when you are there. Everyone should at least visit this place at least once in their life

adult RM3 per entry kid RM1 per entry (7-12 years old) 6 years old and below free non malaysian different fee parking could be a challenge. can park at designated area behind the museum (GPS:2.187116, 102.262880) or nearby area. very depressing inside this museum especially at the hangman/execution area. photography is also not allowed in the execution area. nevertheless, this museum has good educational information about Malaysian prison in general. weekend could be crowded.
